WKTV: SUNY Poly Opens Veterans Lounge

One local college is offering a special space to welcome veterans. SUNY Poly has now a new veterans lounge open on campus.
The president of the student veterans association says the lounge will allow students to become more involved with the college and help them transition from military life to civilian life.
“The reason we wanted to have a lounge for our military veterans is to gather and exchange information, navigate hurdles with the GI Bill – one may know something another doesn’t – and at the very least for the camaraderie,” said Lance Tlustos, President of the Student Veterans Organization. “There’s nothing like standing watch from 12-4 shooting the breeze with a fellow soldier or marine or sailor. That was the premise, a central location to gather.”
It is located in Donovan Hall.
