SUNY POLY Student Veterans Organization Founder Lance Tlustos and Oneida County Youth Services Director Kevin Green
MARCY, N.Y. - Members of the Student Veterans Organization at SUNY Poly collected and dropped off donations to Evelyn’s House.
Evelyn's House is a place for homeless pregnant or parenting women between the ages of 16 to 21.
The goal is to provide a safe, nurturing place for young mothers to get their lives on a new path.
Allison Jackson is the program director for Evelyn’s House and explains why these donations make a difference. “It means a great deal. It means a great deal to the girls as well. They see this, you know our young women who are living here are here for a short time, but are here to kind of get back on their feet and really transition into their own independent living. And to see that the community really supports them in that, and wants to see them succeed means a lot to them.
